EBRD London HQ Relocation to best-in-class Smart Building at Canary Wharf

Cordless is very proud to see The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) officially move its London headquarters from Exchange Square in the City of London to 5 Bank Street.

Over half of the Bank’s 2,800 London-based staff have already relocated to the new office building, which is one of the most environmentally advanced in the UK.

With the Bank taking the top 13 floors of the building, comprising circa 366,000 sq. ft. Cordless was appointed to lead the strategy, design and project assurance of all passive IT, Audio-Visual and Smart Building elements for the new headquarters, working in close collaboration with the client’s IT team and the design team.

Cordless oversaw the design, procurement and project management of the technology for numerous meeting rooms, collaboration spaces and dining and divisible event spaces from standard meeting spaces through to high specification broadcast-grade facilities. A Smart Building dashboard will integrate and control room booking, desk booking, visitor management, occupancy sensing and catering.

The building has been designed to support hybrid and collaborative working, enabling staff to easily connect to virtual meeting platforms and work flexibly across the building.

On target to achieve BREEAM Outstanding, WELL Platinum and EPC A-rating certification, the new workplace reflects the Bank’s commitment to sustainability and cultural diversity – fostering a culture of inclusion, wellbeing, sustainability and innovation.

EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso said: “We are delighted to call Five Bank Street our new home. It is a truly world-class building, which provides the best facilities and working conditions for our staff and reflects the Bank’s commitment to sustainability and new ways of working.”
