The Client

Reddie & Grose LLP is an internationally renowned firm of European and United Kingdom patent, trademark and design attorneys. The experienced team of over 50 IP professionals based in London and Cambridge includes specialists in a range of technical disciplines. The trademark team provides specialist advice on branding and trademark work, and another specialist team manages plant variety protection.  Reddie & Grose handles the full range of IP rights for a global client base. Services range from investigating competing rights, handling oppositions, drafting and filing applications, and maintaining portfolios. It resolves disputes about IP, working closely with other leading legal firms if it becomes necessary to resort to the courts.

Reddie & Grose LLP (R&G), was planning to relocate from its London home of 40 years at 16 Theobalds Road to new premises in the City of London at The White Chapel Building. R&G wanted the new London HQ to provide a modern, welcoming environment for visitors with excellent facilities for clients, futureproofing the R&G business for growth.

The workplace relocation needed to support the move to a vibrant and more open-plan environment with the adoption of new working practices. As such, it was to be a truly transformational project for R&G.

Cordless was engaged early on in the planning to support R&G to develop an IT and AV strategic vision for the new workplace; engaging key stakeholders and the professional team to deliver a contemporary workplace supported by modern technologies.

Cordless provided IT and AV Visioning, Design, Procurement and Project Management to help R&G plan and implement workplace technologies to enable open plan working, augmented with meeting and conference rooms, quiet places and breakout spaces.

Cordless advised on the IT Physical Infrastructure, AV and Multimedia, Active Networks and Desktop and Devices.

Cordless was able to help create a workplace technology design that formed the basis of a resilient infrastructure, a scalable structured cabling system, a consistent user experience in all meeting room including wireless presentation and room booking, uniformity at the desktop, including use of Skype, headsets, cordless handsets and sit-stand working facilities. The move was phased and so as not to disrupt BAU, triangulation was required between the old and new London sites and the Cambridge site.

R&G now has a modern workplace to enable its teams to work together more efficiently and effectively, for the benefit of clients and staff alike.

6 months on, there has been positive feedback from users on the new workplace. Early adopters have been keen to realise the benefits of the new technology. There is now further work to do to train users and realise the full capabilities of technology across the organisation and R&G is currently working to achieve this.
