The Client

Convene is a leading global hospitality company founded in 2009 off the simple question: “What if you ran an office building like a hotel?” From there, the business made a mission to elevate the way people meet, work and live by reimagining what “a workday” means for today’s most innovative organisations. Through a network of beautifully designed and tech-enabled meeting, event, and WorkPlace locations, Convene offers a full-service, premium single solution that transforms workdays into memorable experiences.

The Challenge

Convene had selected the new AXA 22 Bishopsgate building as its first international location in London. 22 Bishopsgate is one of London’s most exciting developments in the financial district. The building stands 912 ft tall (62 stories) and is the second tallest building in the city. The objective was to create a spectacular 50,000 sq. ft first class amenity space across two floors for Convene clients, dedicated to meetings, events and membership opportunities.

The Solution

Cordless provided technology design advice and project management guidance to Convene to allow the delivery of AV, Structured Cabling, Mobility and Security for consistency and validation with US and UK standards.

Technology was designed to support the user experience and allow engagement with the building – with facial recognition software and CCTV to grant or prevent access to the building and a Smart Spaces building app that allows companies to book guests, and control ambient temperature effortlessly.
80-percent of the new space is dedicated to meetings and events. Technology brings the hub to life with space to host 7 concurrent events and spaces to host theatre-style forums for 400+ attendees, small intimate gatherings, or a reception style format that can suit over 600 attendees across ten rooms on both floors.
Members will also be able to take advantage of nine small meeting rooms, perfect for client pitches, one-on-one presentations, or small working groups.

All of the spaces feature state of the art technology, equipped with high-speed WiFi and mobile regeneration for optimum in-building signal, as well as conferencing tools that enable hybrid meetings. Additionally, all clients have the opportunity to access premium-production and broadcasting elements, such as set design, as well as state-of-the-art audio/video capabilities.

For commuters, there are bike parks and showers in the basement, and all guests can enjoy “the Market” on the second floor, which offers a myriad of food and beverage options from coffee shops and bars to “changing street-food style stalls.
