The Project
AV and IT consultancy for Ted Baker’s HQ London relocation.
The Technologies
Futureproof active and passive networking; wireless audio and video conferencing; building-wide AV over IP and digital signage; background music system; room booking; wireless presentation; Unified Communications.
The Client
Ted Baker is a distinctive British lifestyle brand known for its unique blend of style and eccentricity, superior craftsmanship, and contemporary designs. The brand offers timeless collections that feature classic tailoring, sharp silhouettes and fun and playful pieces that have a bold personality and identity. Ted Baker offers a wide range of categories, including menswear, womenswear, accessories, footwear, homeware and beauty. Ted Baker is available in 191 freestanding stores, shop-in-shops, and outlets in 49 countries worldwide.
The Challenge
Ted Baker was relocating across London from 6a St Pancras Way, fondly nicknamed as The Ugly Brown Building to 101 on Cleveland Street, which would be known as Ted Baker on Cleveland.
The ambition for the project was to use the 35,000 sq. ft. of space to create a connective hub that can accommodate up to 500 positions and support Ted Baker’s “Smarter, Together, Simpler” strategies forming a brand journey that is uniquely Ted.
Cordless was engaged to advise on and project manage the AV and Active and Passive IT Networks. The user experience had to blend intuitive and consistent technologies into an attractive and engaging environment.
The Solution
Cordless delivered hands-on advice and technology project assurance from strategy, design and procurement through to go live and BAU. The technology, underpinned by a robust Structured Cabling System, enables a range of WiFi first workspaces in the building.
The areas include a reception, coffee pavilion and refreshment points and meeting and project spaces including a client showroom, a boutique campaign landing space and photographic studios.
The workplace focus is on community and connectivity, replicating a walkthrough of a British Town with local shops, highstreets, markets, town squares, parks and neighbourhoods.
All meeting spaces are well connected, being equipped with audio and video conferencing, as well as wireless presentation capabilities. Laptop-hosted conferencing gives flexibility of transfer from desktop to meeting rooms, utilising room-based AV systems for optimum experience.
The workplace also benefits from building-wide digital signage, a remote management system, room booking, AV over IP distribution and a background music system. Unified Communications supports user collaboration and hybrid working.
The Results
It will be an invigorating and refreshing experience for Ted Baker team members and visitors to experience the new HQ in Fitzrovia.
The building provides a living journey that supports connectivity, collaboration and agile working.
With its range of unique spaces, the workplace will inspire creativity, reflecting and showcasing the brand’s personality and energy.
