IT, AV and Smart Building Consultancy at the IET

The Institution of Engineering and Technology’s Refurbishment of Michael Faraday House to create innovative and agile space for the next generation of engineers and technicians…

Cordless is delighted to be providing IT, AV and Smart Building consultancy to the IET for the refurbishment of Michael Faraday House in Stevenage.  The IET champions best practice in Engineering and Technology globally with Michael Faraday House having been its HQ since 1989.

This project comes at a landmark time in the Institute’s history as is celebrates its 150th anniversary. The refurbishment will bring the building up to modern office standards and provide a significantly improved working environment for over 500 staff. The concept designs place sustainability at the heart of the refurbishment and include an enclosed courtyard to increase space and a flexible layout to support agile ways of working. The new layout will provide different zones on each floor to encourage innovation, creativity and collaboration.

Cordless is helping design and project manage building technologies to support the institute’s role in communicating with its global community and in setting worldwide standards and best practice. The key project objective is to find the best technologies to support the changing use of the building post-Covid whilst creating a cleaner, safer and more energy efficient environment.
